Call of Duty is going back to its roots in 2017 and if the multiplayer reveal is anything to go by, it’s long overdue. Shown off at the Sony event at E3 2017 we get our first look at what for many will be the lasting experience of the game.
And it looks like Sledgehammer is on course to deliver. If you hate the jetpacks, get a load of this.
Activision has already revealed some of the multiplayer details ahead of E3 and the big curtain drop, and one of the big changes is that create a class is being replaced by divisions. It’s essentially a more true to life experience, where you’ll be a specialist with unique skills and weapons.
Just as Battlefield 1 did last year, WW2 shows just how intense a historical shooter can be.
It drops on November 3, but ahead of that there will be a private beta period for anyone who pre-orders. Because of the marketing deal with Sony, PS4 players will get access first beginning on August 25. For Xbox One players it’ll be a little time after.
One thing is clear: This is a very different Call of Duty to the past few years.
