Today, Codemasters and Deep Silver confirmed that the Onrush open beta will launch on May 17, 2018. The test starts at 9 AM EDT on Thursday and concludes at 5 AM EDT on Monday, May 20. Luckily, both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 are getting the open beta so the developer can work out multiplayer concerns before launch.
According to the companies, the open beta will teach players the basics of Onrush, with an interactive tutorial, before throwing them straight into the action in either practice mode or multiplayer. Practice can be played on your own or with a group of friends in co-op mode.
Two deadly tracks, two game modes, and four vehicle classes will become available throughout the beta with variations such as night races and season changes.
Those who participate in the beta can unlock stylish rewards for the final game in the form of “Crashtags” and “Tombstones”.
Onrush should bring all-action, gravity-defying racing back to consoles when it launches on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on June 5, 2018. The game is developed by the team formerly known as Evolution Studios, the studio behind Sony’s Driveclub. After its closure, Evolution Studios was acquired by Codemasters and that team is making Onrush.
It’s great to see the Evolution Studios team find a new home at Codemasters. Hopefully Onrush will be a great experience and a boost for the developer when it launches in a few months, starting at $59.99. The best part is that the game also features Xbox One X enhancements!
