HTC 10 leaks in promotional video ahead of tomorrow’s event

HTC’s next flagship smartphone is expected to be announced tomorrow, but a promo video for the device leaked online offers an early sneak peek. The video fits what we’ve seen from previous leaks, showing a handset that looks similar from the front to last year’s iPhone-lookalike, the A9, with a relatively clean layout and oval hardware button at the bottom. From the back, though, we have a new design touch of pronounced chamfered edges, along with a camera bump and the familiar HTC logo. The video seems to confirm that the device will be called the HTC 10, indicating that it’s intended to replace last year’s HTC M9 while dropping the latter’s confusing “M” prefix.

Previous leaks suggest the HTC 10 will come with a 5.2-inch, QHD display (1440 x 2560), a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset, and 4GB of RAM. The device’s rear camera is said to be a 12-megapixel “Ultra Pixel” camera with optical image stabilization and laser autofocus, while the front-facing camera reportedly offers 5-megapixels with its own OIS as well. As the video above seems to show, the HTC 10 will come with a USB-C port at the bottom of the device, with leaks suggesting there’s a substantial 3,000mAh battery inside. We’ll be able to confirm these details, and more, tomorrow.
