A new leak suggests HTC may be prepping a smaller and slightly lower-spec version of the HTC U11 flagship, dubbed the HTC U11 Life.
Apparently this device is dubbed “HTC U11 Ocean Life” internally, but that’s not likely going to be its final name when launched. Word of the new phone comes via Android Authority.
It’ll pack a 1080p 5.2in display, IP67 waterproofing, and generally share a bunch of features with the regular HTC U11, including the absence of a 3.5mm headphone jack. That latter feature means that like the regular model it’ll use HTC’s USonic Type-C USB headphones which will come bundled-in with the phone and will allow it to tune the audio experience to your ear canal.
There’s also Bluetooth 5.0 support for wireless headsets. Hardware wise it’s got a mid-range CPU; a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630, 32GB of onboard storage and microSD support. Both front and rear cameras will be rated at 16MP, and it’ll feature the squeezy Edge Sense surround.
There’s no word on a release date or pricing yet, although it’s confirmed HTC will sell it direct via its own website, as well as through T-Mobile in the US. Sadly, at present, we only have this one rather boring render.
