Nexus 6P bargain returns: Google slashes its flagship’s price to just £379 for Father's Day

Get your hands on Alphr’s favourite smartphone for £70 less

Update: Google has brought back the Nexus deal for Father’s Day, but they’re not demanding biological proof that you’re a father to take advantage of the offer. Simply add the Nexus 6P or the Nexus 5X to your basket and £70 will drop off the price. Presumably this only applies until June 19, so order quickly if you’re interested.

The Google Nexus 6P is simplout our best smartphone of 2016. That’s some accolade, given 2016 has been a brilliant year so far for handsets.

It sits at the top of the list at its original retail price of £449, which we considered a bargain when we reviewed it – and was the main reason we loved it so much. So, what if we were to tell you that Google had taken an additional £70 off the price?

Well, that’s exactly what the search giant has done. Until Father’s Day, if you go to the Google Play store, you get an automatic £70 discount on the handset applied at checkout. This applies to all colours and all models, making the 32GB Nexus 6P a very tempting £379, but also giving you the option of the 64GB model for £429 and the whopping 128GB model for a less whopping £509.

Any of the models represent a bargain, but if you decide to take the plunge, you may want to consider the 64GB or 128GB models, since the 6P does not come with expandable storage. Still, that was one of a tiny handful of criticisms we had about the phone when we reviewed it last year.

Sadly, the Nexus 5X isn’t included this time around.
