Overwatch Lets Players Change Skins Before Match Now

Overwatch fans have a lot to look forward to on February 8. Not only will the Year of the Dog limited-time event kick off, but a new feature will be added that will allow fans to change skins at the start of a match.

This feature was announced by the official Overwatch Twitter page with a gif that shows the player switching between various Pharah skins. This will make it possible for players to swap skins without having to return to the main menu, which may result in players getting more mileage out of the various skins that they have unlocked for the game over time.

Of course, this new feature isn’t the only thing coming to Overwatch in the February 8 update. As previously stated, the February 8 update will officially kick off the game’s limited-time Year of the Dog event, which will bring with it plenty for fans to look forward to, including a brand new Capture the Flag map called Ayutthaya.

In addition to a new map, the Capture the Flag game mode will also see some tweaks, including a Sudden Death rule. Furthermore, Capture the Flag will actually get its own Competitive mode, which could encourage more players to try it out. Those that participate will net themselves a special spray and player icon, along with Competitive Points that can be spent on gold weapons.

The Year of the Dog event will last for four weeks beginning February 8, and while its new legendary skins will only be available for a limited time, some of the content coming tomorrow will be a permanent part of the Overwatch experience moving forward. This includes the changes to Capture the Flag, the new CTF map Ayutthaya, and the ability to change skins at the start of a multiplayer match.

Overwatch is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
