At X018, Microsoft announced that a number of games would receive mouse and keyboard support on Xbox One in the coming days. However, it seems like only Razer would offer peripherals that took advantage of the feature, particular when it came to wireless mice and keyboards. Luckily, that doesn’t seem to be the case because Corsair just announced that its devices would support the console.
According to a new post on the company’s website, more information on peripheral compatibility is coming soon. However, it seems like its existing lineup of devices works with Xbox One. I personally am looking forward to trying out the wireless mouse and keyboard for games like Fortnite and Warframe which run at 60 FPS on Xbox One X.
For those worried about mouse and keyboard support, rest assured that it’s up to the developer to implement it. Hopefully creators will give everyone the option to play with those using mouse and keyboard, or stick to competitive matches which only involve a controller. This decision is based on choice, and in order to attract more gamers to consoles, mouse and keyboard support was needed.
Using a mouse to aim and shoot offers a much more precise experience than a controller. However, if a game isn’t 60 FPS, then that can be challenging, especially if you’re playing a first-person shooter. It’s up to developers to make sure that the however they implement mouse and keyboard support, it’s fair for everyone.
